We want to help your business save water.
Demand for water in our supply area is rising, but the amount of water available remains the same. This is due to a number of factors, including population growth and climate change, which could lead to water shortages as soon as 2050.
We're working hard to reduce water demand and secure supply now, and in the future, which is why we're inviting businesses in the Berwick area to apply for our Water Saving in Business Fund.
What is the Water Saving in Business Fund?
The Water Saving in Business Fund provides financial support for projects aimed at saving water in businesses that aren't homes to help with sustainable water efficiency.
Are you a business, retailer, or water conservation provider working in or supporting the area highlighted above?
Do you have a project that can help a business save water, but you need some funding to make it happen, or, do you have an idea but need to speak to experts, such as a consultant, to see if it could work in reality? We’d love to hear about it.
Your project must:
- Be in Berwick and deliver water savings.
- Save mains tap water and start to demonstrate a measurable, sustainable reduction in water use (litres/day saved).
- Include monthly project updates and provide a written case study/report at the end of the project.
Your project will be assessed based on a number of factors, including, but not exclusive to:
- Innovation
- Funding required
- Cost per litre of water saved
- Amount of water saved
- Wider benefits, such as community, social, or environmental
- And others.
The closing date for applications is 31 January 2025.
