What is Water Direct?
Water Direct is a scheme that uses your benefit payments to help you get back on track with your payments.
Am I eligible?
Water Direct can help you, if you have an active account, are behind more than £50 on your payments, and receive one of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Income Based Jobseeker's Allowance
- Income Based Employment & Support Allowance
- Pension Credit, or
- Universal Credit.

How does it work?
We collect your payment directly from your benefits before they are paid to you, so you don’t need to make payments to us.
These payments will go towards any outstanding balance as well as your latest bill. As long as we’re receiving payments from DWP for your bill, we'll stop any recovery action.
How do I apply?
You can complete our online application form (opens new window) or call us on 0345 733 5566.
We're available from 8am to 7pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturday.
We’ll send your application to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) and they’ll decide if we can collect payments straight from your benefits, before they're paid to you. This means you don't need to worry about forgetting to make payments.
