What kind of pollution you saw
Where you saw it, with a postcode, local landmark or road name if possible
When you saw it
If the problem is still happening, or if sewage is still entering a watercourse
Take action to stop the pollution
Carry out assessments, to find the cause of the pollution and if there's any impact on the environment
Contact the Environment Agency, so they're aware of the incident
Clean up any affected areas
Try to make sure the problem doesn't happen again

Report problems with drains and covers to the right people, to get it fixed quickly.
This helps protect the public and the environment.

Highway gully issues
The grid-like drains you see along the side of the road are highway gullies. If you notice a problem with one, you'll need to contact the council to report it.
