Introducing Local Action
We care about our local communities and want to better understand how we can support them. So, we’re coming to your local community to share information about our Restore and Regenerate: Our Environment Strategy to 2050 and hear first hand about the environmental issues that are important to you.
This is your chance to ask questions and find out more about what our investment over the next five years will mean for your community and your local environment.
Find out when we're coming to you below.
How we're protecting our environment
- We're investing £1.7 billion over the next five years to improve our environmental impact.
- Through our local actions, we're restoring and regenerating our environment.
- We’re creating 3,000 jobs a year across our business and adding £5.7 billion to the local economy through employment and using local suppliers.
- We’ll repair and renew our treatment works, replace ageing water mains, and protect communities from increased flooding due to climate change.
- We’re building capacity to continue to deliver clean water for generations to come.
- We're working with partners to manage water sustainability for both the environment and people by: completely eliminating serious pollution and preventing sewage from entering our rivers, waterways and seas, offering some of the cleanest bathing waters in the country and achieving net zero by 2050.
