How to pay your bill
Paying your bill should be easy, which is why we offer a variety of payment options.
Ways to pay your bill
Just choose the payment method that suits you best, whether it's a hassle-free Direct Debit, secure online payments, using our mobile app, or paying with cash at your local shop.
Our payment options
Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay your bill.
Spread the payments across the year and choose the date you want to make your payment.
It's easy to set up and manage your Direct Debit with an online account.
An online account is the best way to do everything for your customer account.
That includes making card payments quickly and securely.
You don't need an online account to make payments online. If you'd rather use the website only, you can make your payment here.
Our Northumbrian Water app is a quick and secure way to make payments and check your bills.
Download for free from the App Store (opens new window) and Google Play (opens new window).
Our automated 24 hour payment line is free to use.
Call 0800 032 3417 to make payments and check your account balance.
Send your cheques and postal orders to us, along with your payment slip to:
Northumbrian Water
PO Box 300
Durham
DH1 9WQ
Don't forget to write your customer account number on the back of your cheque.
Please do not send cash in the post.
Take your payment slip and pay your bill at a bank.
It's usually free at your own bank, and if you're paying in cash at any NatWest branch.
You can also take your payment slip to the post office, too. There is a charge of £2.60 for this service.
Set up standing orders or pay by bank transfer use our bank details:
- Payee name: NWL
- Sort code: 57-73-61
- Account number: 00000000
Remember to include your ten digit customer account number in the reference.
